What horseback riding tours do you offer?
We currently offer three guided horseback trail rides:
Do I need horseback riding experience?
No. Beginners are welcome. Our guides will help you get comfortable and match you as closely as possible with a horse suited to your size, experience, and comfort level.
How large are your trail ride groups?
Our maximum trail group size is 6 riders. Smaller groups help create a more relaxed and personal riding experience.
What kinds of saddles do you use?
We primarily use Australian Trail and Western saddles for comfort and support on the trail.
Rider Requirements
Safety requirements for participating in a trail ride.
How old do you have to be to ride?
Trail riders must be at least 13 years old.
Is there a rider weight limit?
Yes. Riders must weigh between 80 pounds and 260 pounds.
Are helmets required?
Helmets are required for riders 17 years old and younger. Helmets are provided.
Riders 18 and older may also request a helmet.
Can I ride if I am pregnant?
No. For safety reasons, guests who are pregnant may not participate in horseback trail rides.
Are there medical restrictions?
Riders must be in suitable health to safely participate. Guests with significant neck or back injuries should not ride, and oxygen tanks are not permitted on trail rides.
Can two people ride the same horse?
No. We do not allow double riding. Each participating guest rides their own horse.
What to Wear & When to Arrive
A few simple things make your visit much smoother.
What shoes should I wear?
Closed-toe shoes are required. Sandals and flip-flops are not permitted.
What clothing should I wear?
Long pants are recommended for comfort while riding through wooded trails and natural vegetation.
Dress for the current Florida weather and remember that trail conditions can be different from paved or developed areas.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure.
This gives us time for check-in, paperwork, safety information, horse assignment, and preparation before heading onto the trail.
Weather, Cancellations & Changes
What happens when plans or Florida weather change.
What happens if it rains?
Florida weather can change quickly. When weather or trail conditions prevent us from safely operating a scheduled ride, we provide a rain check.
The guide and Cactus Jack’s staff make the final decision regarding weather and trail safety.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Reservations cannot be canceled or rescheduled within 72 hours of the scheduled reservation time.
Applicable cancellation or rescheduling fees are shown during booking. Please review the terms attached to your reservation before completing your purchase.
What if I arrive late?
Our rides operate on a schedule, which is why we require guests to arrive 30 minutes early. Arriving late may result in missing your scheduled ride.
Horse Lovers Farm Tour
Want to meet the horses without going on a trail ride?
What is the Horse Lovers Farm Tour?
Our Horse Lovers Farm Tour is a 60-minute, ground-based ranch experience where guests can meet horses, hear their stories, take photos, and get a behind-the-scenes look at Cactus Jack’s.
There is no horseback riding involved.
What time is the Farm Tour?
The Horse Lovers Farm Tour is offered at 3:00 PM and lasts approximately 60 minutes.
How much is the Farm Tour?
The Farm Tour is $30 per person.
Children age 5 and under are free with a paying adult.
Can children come on the Farm Tour?
Yes. Unlike our trail rides, the Farm Tour is open to all ages.

Where do the trail rides take place?
Our guided rides travel through the Cross Florida Greenway near the Land Bridge Trailhead in Ocala.
Is there parking?
Yes. Parking is available in the trailhead area. Please follow your reservation instructions and Cactus Jack’s signs when you arrive.
Gift Cards

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Cactus Jack’s gift cards can be purchased in the amount of your choice and applied toward eligible Cactus Jack’s experiences.
Are gift card purchases refundable?
Gift card purchases are final and non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash. Reservations made using a gift card remain subject to the applicable reservation, cancellation, and rider policies.
